grand rapids michigan natural light industrial warehouse photography studio

Exciting news! Beginning January 2013 I will have a gorgeous natural light studio for winter sessions. I have been searching for the ‘just-right’ place for a year and am so pleased to have stumbled on this perfect one. The studio is here in Grand Rapids, with plenty of off-street parking and is very easily accessible off 131. Your sessions will be absolutely dreamy here. The option for on-location sessions in your home is still available and I am still looking forward to some wintertime outdoor shooting in the snow as well. Having the studio will be beneficial to you for getting those mini sessions booked in between your annual session, or to document your baby’s first year, as well as my “15 Minutes of Fame” and “Creative Headshot” sessions. The first mini session event will be on Saturday January 19th, 2013. Book your session to be photographed with the one you love and have delivery in time for Valentine’s Day gift giving. For more information, send me an email at and watch the blog for updates!

dena robles michigan photographer winter 2012 news

It has been such a gloriously beautiful and busy autumn season in Grand Rapids Michigan. Some of my biggest news involved my first showing in ArtPrize. There is more info about my entry and the process on this blog post: ArtPrize 2012 I spent as many days as possible experiencing all the art and artists who were packed onto the downtown Grand Rapids streets and in the shops. I photographed all the hustle every day I was down there and am anxiously waiting for the film to be returned so I can share them on the blog. ArtPrize really is a feast for the senses!

Also, I am proud to announce that my commercial work with pastry Chef Juliet Sear was recently published in her new book titled “The Cake Decorating Bible.” See the lovely cake book here.

And now onto winter…I am still accepting portrait commissions through the entire winter season and am really looking forward to experiencing the unique winter light and environment outdoors for any of you brave enough to have a go at it with me. Farmer’s Almanac predicts another mild winter here in Western Michigan, so if you are a believer in those words, then we should have a heyday. I will also be photographing indoors in your home or in a studio as needed. As always, to inquire about booking your own session, email is best

One more sneak peek at what’s coming up in January 2013. I will be offering photography classes, perfect for those of you with fancy cameras on your Santa wishlist or even those of you who know your way around the camera but need some help jump starting your creativity or refining your vision. More details to come very soon!
